These are two pictures of Grand Canyon Railway Trains which provide transportation from Williams, AZ to the Grand Canyon. You can get to Williams Jct. a few miles away on Amtrak but it does require an ovenight stay in Williams to and from the east. A free shuttle meets the Amtrak trains and takes you to the Grand Canyon Railway station. Once at the Grand Canyon, the park service provides a frequent bus shuttle all around the area along the rim, so you can hike along the rim until you have had enough and then take the bus back to your hotel or elsewhere in the village.
Copy of an old public transportation ad used throughout the Stockholm T-bana (subway) system to advertise the local tram museum. This was on display when I visited there in 2005

I only wish I had a chance to talk to [Unknown LJ tag] before he killed his account, or I'd've volunteered to take over this community and try to get it active. Oh well. electric_trains is active if anyone wants to come on over. We are active.
electric_trains is a community for international electric railroading, and not model trains. Post pictures, stories, technical information, news, and anything related to railroads that run directly off of overhead pantograph or third rail. This is the only all electric railroading community in LiveJournal. HRT, LRT, and classic trolleys are cool with us.

Old C.P "Parc" station. The building is still partially used for the "Parc" subway station (Blue Line). And just down the block, on the old C.P tracks is the "Parc" commuter train stop. ( Read more...Collapse )

I'm new to the community. Here's a wondeful picture of one of our 5 coach buses we have here at the University of Maryland. I know it's not exactly public transportation, but it's a really good pic.
